Newcomer George Hennessey has dropped his final single of 2022, ‘Prisoner’. He describes it as being “about when luck isn’t on your side, and you feel like you're being held emotionally captive… your guitar and melody can be your only ways out.” It’s a thick-textured and beautifully produced single that balances the massive, anthemic chorus with almost psychedelic-inspired verses. There’s a clear classic rock influence on his songwriting, with rollicking drums underpinning that blues-tinged guitar solo. His debut album, If You Can’t Find What You’re Looking For Please Ask, drops on February 3rd, 2022 and is supported by a launch show at the Half Moon in Putney on the same date. -Dan Peeke.
